Snow in forecast for tonight and Tuesday

The forecast from the National Weather Service calls for partly sunny skies today and a chance of rain, followed by rain and snow tonight, then more snow possible tonight and Tuesday.

The weather service advises drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling when it starts raining and snowing.

The latest road conditions for the state of Kansas will be available by calling 5-1-1, the weather service said.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect for almost the entire region, with about 1 to 3 inches of snow expected, according to the weather service.

Slippery road conditions are expected for the Tuesday morning commute, the weather service said.

Well below normal temperatures are expected to continue through the weekend, according to the weather service.

A high risk for below normal temperatures is possible through Nov. 19. There is a moderate risk for much below normal temperatures continuing through Nov. 21, the weather service said. Also there is a slight risk for much below normal temperatures continuing through Nov. 23, according to the weather service.

Today, there is a 20 percent chance of rain after 2 p.m., with a high near 44, the weather service said. A south wind around 6 mph becomes light and variable in the afternoon.

Tonight, there is a 90 percent chance of rain before 7 p.m., then snow, possibly mixed with rain between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., then snow after 10 p.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 31 with a calm wind. From 1 to 3 inches of snow are possible.

Tuesday, there is a 30 percent chance of snow before 9 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 37 with a light north, northwest wind becoming 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Winds may gust as high as 21 mph.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 22 and a west northwest wind of 6 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 32, the weather service said. A west northwest wind of 8 to 15 mph will gust as high as 24 mph.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 23, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 37, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 16, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 27, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 16, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be sunny, with a high near 35, the weather service said.

Cold front moves in today

A strong cold front will move into the region today, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will rise to almost 73 by noon, then fall to about 56 during the rest of the day, the weather service said.

A few strong storms are possible, with damaging winds.

Colder temperatures are behind the front, Thursday night into Friday and Saturday, with highs in the 30s on Friday.

Today, showers and thunderstorms are possible before 5 p.m., then showers are likely, the weather service said. Temperatures will rise to near 73 by noon, then fall to around 56 by the remainder of the day. A south southwest wind of 11 to 18 mph will become north northwest in the afternoon, with winds gusting up to 34 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Tonight, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., then a chance of showers between 9 p.m. and midnight. The low will be about 27.

On Friday, Veterans Day, it will be sunny, with a high near 37, the weather service said. A north northwest wind of 11 to 15 mph will gust as high as 24 mph.

Cool, high near 58 today

Today’s weather is cool, with a high near 58, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Temperatures are near normal for this time of year. Later this week, there will be above normal temperatures, the weather service said.

A strong cold front will move through Thursday evening, with much colder temperatures late in the week, according to the weather service.

There are elevated fire weather concerns today as the humidity drops to 20 to 30 percent this afternoon and winds gust up to 25 mph.

Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 58, the weather service said. An east wind of 8 to 15 mph will gust as high as 26 mph.

Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 49, according to the weather service. An east southeast wind of 8 to 10 mph will gust up to 23 mph.

Tuesday, there will be a 20 percent chance of showers, with a high near 65, the weather service said. A south southeast wind of 9 to 11 mph will gust as high as 18 mph.

Tuesday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 60, according to the weather service. A south wind of 10 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 76, the weather service said. A south wind of 10 to 15 mph will gust as high as 28 mph.

Thursday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, the weather service said. The high will be near 75. It will be breezy.
