Rain, storms possible Monday

A cold front will bring scattered thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

A few of the storms could be strong to marginally severe, the weather service said.

Strong wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail are possible with these storms, according to the weather service.

The strongest storms could move through from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, the weather service said.

After the cold front moves through, it will seem like fall on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the low 70s, according to the weather service.

Today, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 89. A south wind of 11 to 16 mph will gust as high as 28 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 58. A north northwest wind of 10 to 17 mph will gust as high as 25 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Tuesday, it will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 73, the weather service said. A north wind of 9 to 13 mph will gust as high as 23 mph.

Tuesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 49 and a north wind of 3 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 72 and a north wind of 3 to 6 mph, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be clear, with a low of 48, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be sunny, with a high near 76, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be clear, with a low of 56, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 81, the weather service said.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Severe weather is not expected today, the weather service said.

There is a 20 percent potential for thunderstorms between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., according to the weather service. The amount of precipitation may be small, with the storms moving through quickly, if they arise.

Temperatures today could reach a high of 87, with highs in the mid-80s for the rest of the weekend, the weather service said.

When another storm comes through on Tuesday, the high will be around 73, according to the weather service.

Today, there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m., with a high near 87, the weather service said. A west southwest wind of 5 mph will become calm in the afternoon.

Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 64 with a north northeast wind of 3 to 5 mph.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high of 84 and a light, variable wind, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be clear, with a low of 66 and a light east southeast wind, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be sunny, with a high near 87 and a light south southeast wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 68, according to the weather service.

Weather warms up into weekend

The weather will warm up Thursday into the weekend, as highs will reach the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The only chance for precipitation this week will be Friday, when a few thunderstorms may be possible for areas north of I-70, the weather service said. The best chances for precipitation will be in Iowa and Nebraska, but a few scattered storms are possible in the Kansas City area.

Another chance for rain will be Tuesday, when a cold front will move through the area in the evening, bringing a chance of rain, according to the weather service.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 87 and a south wind of 8 to 10 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be clear, with a low of 66 and a south southeast wind of 6 mph, according to the weather service.

Friday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 87 with a south wind of 3 to 6 mph.

Friday night, there is a 10 percent chance of thunderstorms before 7 p.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 65 with a light north northeast wind.
