Strong storms possible tonight

Strong storms are possible tonight, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Thunderstorms are likely after midnight, the weather service said.

The potential exists for a few strong storms, with gusty winds the main threat, according to the weather service.

Additional heavy rainfall also is possible with these storms, however, flooding is not expected, the weather service said.

Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 76 and a light south southwest wind becoming south southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.

Tonight, there is a 100 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, followed by more showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 64 with a southeast wind of 9 to 14 mph, gusting to 21 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., then a slight chance of showers after 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 74 with a south wind of 14 to 18 mph, gusting up to 26 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible, except higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday night, the low will be around 52 with a west southwest wind of 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening, according to the weather service.

Thursday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 71 with a calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the morning. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Thursday night, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a chance of showers after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 51. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, with a high near 59, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 42, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be sunny, with a high near 64, the weather service said.

Thunderstorms and rain are in the forecast for Monday through 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Showers and a thunderstorm are likely before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, the weather service said. Temperatures were 57 degrees at 9 a.m. Monday.

Strong storms also are possible Tuesday night into the overnight hours, according to the weather service. The potential exists for a few strong storms with gusty winds the main threat, the weather service said. Heavy rainfall is also possible with these storms.

The high today will be near 67, with temperatures rising Tuesday to 77, according to the weather service. The high will be in the low 70s on Wednesday and Thursday, then it will drop to 61 on Friday, and will remain in the 60s for the weekend.

Clouds will gradually clear, with a high near 67. It will be breezy, with a northwest wind of 14 to 20 mph, gusting as high as 29 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 77 and a south southwest wind of 5 to 11 mph, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, there is a 90 percent chance of precipitation, with showers, followed by showers and possibly a thunderstorm, after 10 p.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 63 with a southeast wind of 9 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 24 mph. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Skies will gradually become sunny, with a high near 75. A southwest wind of 14 to 16 mph will gust as high as 31 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

The weather will be warming up for the weekend, with temperatures rising to 85 today and 91 on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will be near record highs on Saturday, then will drop to 82 on Sunday, the weather service said.

Hot temperatures, dry conditions and gusty winds will lead to elevated fire weather conditions on Saturday, according to the weather service.

The potential exists for thunderstorms Sunday night into Monday and a second round on Tuesday night into Wednesday, the weather service said. Some storms could be strong.

Today, it will be sunny, with a high near 85 and a south southeast wind of 5 to 8 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 65 and an east southeast wind around 6 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 91 and a south wind of 6 to 16 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph, the weather service said.
