Dry and seasonable weather is expected Wednesday through Friday, according to the weather service. A 40 percent chance of rain is possible Saturday and Sunday.

Today, it will be sunny, with a high near 73, the weather service said. A light southwest wind will become south southwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds may gust as high as 23 mph.

Tonight, there will be increasing clouds, with a low of 54 and a south wind of 7 to 9 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 75, the weather service said. A south wind will be 9 to 15 mph, gusting as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. It will be mostly clear, with a low of 58 and a south wind of 10 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph.

Wednesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 68, the weather service said. A south southwest wind of 9 to 13 mph will become west in the afternoon. Winds may gust as high as 21 mph.

Today’s high near 70, storms possible tonight

After a mostly sunny and dry day today, scattered storms are possible tonight, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Lightning and heavy downpours are possible tonight, after a warm front moves into the I-70 corridor, but no hazardous weather is expected, the weather service said.

The forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight. Rain is likely along and south of the I-70 corridor, with some off and on showers north of I-70 later today into tonight, according to the weather service. Light rain could start around 6 p.m. and continue until 6 a.m. Friday.

Most of the rain today will be around a quarter to a half-inch at the most, the weather service said.

A cold front will push through the area Thursday night into Friday, according to the weather service, and rain should end Friday morning. The rest of the weekend should be dry.

Daytime highs Friday will struggle to reach 60 degrees, while Friday night’s low will drop to 41, the weather service said. Frost is not expected yet in the Kansas City area.

Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 70 and an east wind of 3 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a chance of showers after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 50 with a light east northeast wind becoming north 6 to 11 mph after midnight. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 59 with a north wind of 11 to 13 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Rain is moving out of the Wyandotte County area this morning after storms moved through this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms and rain should move out before 11 a.m. Monday, the weather service said. Today’s high should be near 74.

More thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening, according to the weather service.

Showers will end by 1 p.m. Friday, and temperatures will drop to a high of 59 as a cold front moves in, the weather service said.

Weekend temperatures will be 64 on Saturday, and 71 on Sunday.

Today, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 74 with a south wind of 13 to 17 mph, becoming west southwest in the afternoon. Winds may gust as high as 33 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.
