A Kansas City, Kansas, man died in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday morning, July 8, in Basehor, Kansas.

Marvin Giron-Ardon, 48, Kansas City, Kansas, died in the accident, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

Giron-Ardon was in a Chevrolet Tracker that was eastbound on U.S. 24, and attempted a left turn on 174th, according to the trooper’s report. The Tracker was struck in the rear by a GMC Sierra truck that went off the roadway, the report stated.

The accident happened about 7:29 a.m. July 8.

The driver of the Sierra was a 27-year-old man from Leavenworth, Kansas, who had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.

A passenger in Giron-Ardon’s vehicle, a 40-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had a minor injury and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, according to the trooper’s report.

An injury-accident was reported at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on westbound I-70 near I-635, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

A Honda Accord and a Kia Forte were on I-70 in the outside lane when the Forte slowed in traffic and was struck by the Accord, according to the trooper’s report.

It was raining on Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the Forte, a 54-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the Honda, a 27-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had no apparent injury, according to the trooper’s report.

After heavy rain and thunderstorm Wednesday afternoon, several accidents were reported on area highways by KC Scout.

According to KC Scout, other accidents were reported Wednesday afternoon at I-435 at Kansas Avenue, I-435 at I-70, and I-635 at Shawnee Drive.
