A piece of metal came through the windshield of a Chevy Suburban about 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, on westbound I-70 near I-635 in Wyandotte County, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
The driver, a 36-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had a possible minor injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.
An injury-accident was reported at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, on westbound I-70, east of K-7, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
The driver of a Monte Carlo lost control and struck the barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated.
The vehicle then rode the wall, came off the wall and struck the wall again, agccording to the report.
The driver, a 20-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.
A fatal accident was reported at 9:34 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, on I-70 in Leavenworth County, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.
A Jeep Liberty was westbound on I-70 east of the eastern terminal when, for an unknown reason, it traveled onto the shoulder, the trooper’s report stated.
The Jeep collided with the outside guardrail, then veered left and traveled across all westbound lanes, colliding with the inside barrier wall. The vehicle then overturned several times, ejecting the driver, according to the report.
The driver, Chelsie Faith Randel, 19, of Topeka, Kansas, died in the accident, according to the report.
