Hit-and-run reported on K-7 Sunday

A hit-and run was reported at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, on northbound K-7 near Polfer Road in Wyandotte County.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, an Infiniti and a Toyota Tacoma were northbound on K-7 when the Infiniti struck the rear of the Tacoma.

The Tacoma spun around, then the Infiniti struck the front of the Tacoma and fled, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Infiniti, a 35-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, had a possible minor injury and was taken to the hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the Tacoma, a 51-year-old man from Leavenworth, Kansas, had a possible minor injury, but was not taken to the hospital, according to the report.

Accident reported on westbound I-70 in downtown KCK area

An accident was reported at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, on westbound I-70 near Minnesota Avenue, according to KC Scout. According to authorities, a semi truck transporting crushed cars hit a concrete barrier, and a crushed car flew over the barrier, landing on a semi truck below. According to a Kansas Department of Transportation social media post, the accident was on the I-70 westbound curve at the Lewis and Clark Viaduct in Kansas City, Kansas. Injury-accident reported on I-635

An injury-accident was reported at 12:15 a.m. Jan. 28 on southbound I-635 near the Kansas Avenue exit in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

A GMC Yukon was southbound on the I-635 ramp from Kansas Avenue when it ran off the road to the left and struck the inside barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated.

The vehicle then went off the road to the right and struck the right barrier wall, according to the report.

The driver, a 28-year-old man from Olathe, Kansas, had a possible minor injury and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, according to the report. He was not wearing a safety restraint, the report stated.

A passenger, a 19-year-old woman from Olathe, Kansas, had a possible minor injury, the report stated. She was not wearing a safety restraint, the report stated.

Another passenger, a 36-year-old man from Mission, Kansas, had no apparent injury, according to the report. He was wearing a safety restraint, according to the report.
