Accident reported on northbound I-435 near K-5

An accident was reported at 6:57 a.m. Friday, April 30, on northbound I-435 near K-5, according to KC Scout. Two right lanes were closed. According to the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department, a utility truck collided with a semi truck. A 42-year-old Dearborn, Missouri, man was taken to a hospital with a suspected serious injury after a crash on Friday morning between a utility truck and semi on I-435.

The crash happened about 6:50 a.m. Friday on northbound I-435, south of the Missouri River in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

A Ford F-550 truck driven by the Dearborn man was southbound on I-435, while the semi, which was pulling a trailer, was northbound on I-435, the report stated.

The utility truck ran off the road to the left, crossed through the median, and collided with the semi on the northbound side, according to the trooper’s report.

The Dearborn man was taken to a hospital in Overland Park.

The Kenworth semi driver, a 58-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, according to the trooper’s report.

Three-vehicle crash reported on I-70

A three-vehicle accident was reported at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, on eastbound I-70 between the 78th and I-435 exits in Wyandotte County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a GMC Sierra truck, a Nissan Altima and a Gillig bus were involved in the accident.

The Sierra was going too fast for conditions and lost control, the trooper’s report stated. The Sierra truck collided with the rear of the Altima, then the Sierra went across the inside lane and shoulder, colliding with the inside barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated.

After colliding with the barrier wall, the Sierra traveled back into the eastbound lanes and collided with the bus, the report stated.

The driver of the Sierra, a 39-year-old man from Overland Park, Kansas, had a possible injury and complaint of pain, the report stated.

A 37-year-old male passenger in the Sierra from Shawnee, Kansas, also had a possible injury and complaint of pain, the report stated.

The driver of the Altima, a 49-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kansas, had no apparent injury, the report stated.

The driver of the bus, a 66-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, had no apparent injury, the trooper’s report stated.
