Late rally falls short for T-Bones

A late rally fell short for the T-Bones on Monday night, who lost 7-4 to Sioux City in an away game.

The T-Bones will try again to stop the nine-game losing streak when they play at Sioux City tonight at 7:05 p.m.

The T-Bones launched a rally in the sixth inning, scoring one run, then another late rally in the eighth, scoring three runs. But it wasn’t enough to overcome the 7-0 lead the Explorers took by the fifth inning.

Getting RBIs were the T-Bones’ Nate Tenbrink, with a sacrifice fly; Jake Blackwood, with a single; and Adam Bailey, with a triple.

The T-Bones starting pitcher, Fernando Hernandez, was the losing pitcher, allowing three runs, three hits and three walks in three innings.

T-Bones lose two games Sunday

The T-Bones lost two games on Sunday to the Gary RailCats in Gary, Ind.

Gary won 3-2 in the first game, and 3-2 in the second game. The first game had been rained out on Saturday and was rescheduled Sunday.

Despite the two losses, it was a good day at the plate for the T-Bones’ Ryan Cavan. He hit a solo home run in the sixth inning of the first game.

Joe Van Meter was the losing pitcher in the first game, a seven-inning contest, giving up three runs and six hits. He walked one.

In the second game, Robby Kuzdale got a hit with two runners on base, scoring the lead run in the third inning.

Joe Rapp of the T-Bones hit a single that scored one run, tying the game in the sixth inning, 2-2.

Blake Holovach, starting pitcher, went 3.2 innings, allowing two runs and five hits. The losing pitcher was Jonathan Kountis, who pitched one inning, allowed one hit and one run. He walked two, including the lead-off player in the bottom of the sixth inning, who then scored on a double by the RailCats’ Adam Taylor.

With the RailCats series over, the T-Bones, 1-8, now travel to Sioux City for a game at 7:10 p.m. Monday against the Explorers.

T-Bones hope to turn around streak tonight

After losing six in a row, the T-Bones are playing Saturday night in Gary, Ind., against the RailCats.

The T-Bones lost the opener Friday to the RailCats, 9-2.

T-Bones starter, Casey Barnes, pitched 4 innings, and the RailCats scored five runs, on four hits and four walks.

The T-Bones scored in the seventh, when outfielder Adam Bailey hit a double that scored Alex Marquez and Ryan Cavan.
