After Saturday’s game was suspended due to rain, the Kansas City T-Bones got a second two-run hit from Vladimir Frias, and went on to defeat the St. Paul Saints, 6-3, Sunday evening at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Saturday’s game was suspended in the middle of the fifth inning, tied at 3-3, in front of 4,112.

On Sunday, the T-Bones took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Brett Wiley led off the inning with a double down the first-base line. Jimmy Mojica then singled before Dalton Wheat hit an infield single that allowed Wiley to score.

The T-Bones added two more runs in the seventh with Frias’ second two-run hit of the game. Saints reliever Cody Wheeler gave up a single to Tyler Massey before walking Jake Blackwood. After Anthony Gallas struck out, Frias singled home both Massey and Blackwood, giving Kansas City a 6-3 lead.

With Kansas City trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning Saturday night, the T-Bones responded in the bottom of the first. After back-to-back singles by Starlin Rodriguez and Massey, Anthony Gallas flied out to center field, advancing Rodriguez to third. Frias doubled down the right-field line, scoring both Gallas and Rodriguez, and tying the game, 2-2. Singles by Wiley and Mojica scored Frias, giving the T-Bones a 3-2 lead.

The Saints responded in the third inning against starting pitcher David Holman, who gave up an RBI single to Tony Caldwell, scoring Nate Hanson. Hanson had led off the inning with a walk and advanced on the single by Angelo Songco.

After a comeback in the fifth inning, the Kansas City T-Bones fell to the St. Paul Saints 7-5 Sunday night in front of a crowd of 5,825 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones trailed 4-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning of the seven-inning game, before a long rally. Jimmy Mojica and Dalton Wheat led off the inning by drawing walks from starting pitcher Alec Crawford.

The Saints brought in reliever Caleb Thielbar, who came into the game with a 1.65 ERA after 20 previous outings. Thielbar gave up a single to Tyler Moore, loading the bases. Starlin Rodriguez then reached first on a fielder’s choice, which scored Mojica, cutting St. Paul’s lead in half at 4-2. After Tyler Massey walked, Jake Blackwood knocked in Wheat with a base hit. Thielbar (3-1) tied the game by walking Vladimir Frias, bringing in Rodriguez. Brett Wiley added to Thielbar’s two-run outing by hitting a single that scored Massey and gave the T-Bones the lead, 5-4.

Thielbar was in line for the loss until the Saints re-took the lead in the top of the sixth. Facing reliever Johnny Shuttlesworth, the leadoff batter, Chad Christensen, reached first on an error by Blackwood. Shuttlesworth walked Maxx Garrett before Sam Maus hit a sacrifice fly that advanced all runners. Brady Burzynski singled, scoring Christensen and moving Garrett to third. Almadova then advanced to first on a fielder’s choice that scored Garrett and gave the Saints a 6-5 lead.

Prior to the 7-5 loss, the T-Bones defeated St. Paul 6-3 earlier Sunday evening, concluding Saturday’s game that was suspended in the middle of the fifth due to rain. After scoring a run in the sixth, the T-Bones added two more runs in the seventh with Frias’ second two-run hit of the game. Saints reliever Cody Wheeler gave up a single to Massey before walking Blackwood. After Anthony Gallas struck out, Frias singled home both Massey and Blackwood, giving Kansas City a 6-3 lead.

Saturday night’s T-Bones game against St. Paul at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan., was suspended in the middle of the fifth inning due to rain, with the score tied at 3-3.

The two teams will finish that nine-inning game on Sunday afternoon, beginning at 5:15, and then play a seven-inning game that will start as close to 7:05 as possible. Gates at CommunityAmerica Ballpark will open at 5 p.m.

Saturday night’s tickets can be redeemed as a raincheck at the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark for Sunday night or any other future 2016 T-Bones game, subject to availability.

The T-Bones are still planning their Fourth of July fireworks show after the completion of the second game.

An impressive eight-inning outing by Mike Kickham lifted the T-Bones past the St. Paul Saints, 5-1, Friday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan..

Kickham (1-0) kept the Saints’ bats quiet in his second start for Kansas City, striking out six batters and giving up only two hits and three walks.

After four-plus scoreless innings, three straight hits gave the T-Bones a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth to the delight of the 4,778 in attendance. Brett Wiley led off the inning with a single before Jimmy Mojica, who signed a few hours before the game, doubled to center field. Dalton Wheat brought in both runners with a double that hit third base and scooted into left.

The T-Bones scored three additional runs in the next four innings, thanks largely to two solo home runs from Anthony Gallas, who came off the disabled list earlier in the day.

The Saints scored their lone run on T-Bones reliever Aaron Baker in the ninth inning with a sacrifice fly by Angelo Songco scoring Breland Almadova, who reached on a one-out single.

St. Paul pitcher Eric Veglahn (0-2) gave up eight hits and three runs in 7 innings in his first professional start.

The T-Bones (17-24) are scheduled to continue their three-game series against St. Paul (28-14) on Saturday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. A fireworks display has been scheduled after the game.
