The Piper School District has planned a special election on increasing the local option budget on Tuesday, June 3.
Voters will decide to approve or reject changing the local option budget from 30 percent to 31 percent. More details on the election are on the school district’s website at www.piperschools.com.
Voters must be registered to vote and live in Piper School District to be eligible to vote in this election.
There are two polling locations for the election to be held on June 3 – Piper Community Center and Open Door Baptist Church. On Election Day, voters must go to their designated polling place. All voters have been notified by mail of their designated polling place.
Voters have four options for casting their vote. Three of the options are advance voting. The fourth option is to vote on Election Day.
Advance voting by mail began on May 14. To obtain an advance ballot by mail, voters must complete the advance ballot application, go to www.wycokck.org/election, to download the application. Completed applications may be sent to the Election Office by mail, by fax or by personal delivery. Applications may be submitted beginning immediately. The deadline to apply for an advance ballot by mail is Friday, May 30. However, voters should be encouraged to apply early. Applications submitted on or near the deadline may not be delivered by the post office in time. Even if voters get their ballot, they will need to consider whether they will be able to return their voted ballot by mail or must bring the voted ballot to the Election Office. All mailed advance ballots must be returned to and be in the Election Office not later than 7 p.m. on election night. Late ballots cannot be counted.
Advance voting, in person, at the Election Office, began May 27 and continues weekdays only to noon on Monday, June 2.
Advance voting, in person, will be available to registered voters at Open Door Baptist Church on Saturday, May 31, only from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Voters who do not vote in advance must vote from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, June 3, at their designated polling place.
