Victim of fatal crash identified

The victim of a fatal crash on Saturday, Feb. 13, was identified by Kansas City, Kan., police today.

Nicholas Rodela, 37, a resident of Kansas City, Kan., died of his injuries from the crash.

A police spokesman said they arrived at 4400 block of North 107th Street at 7:28 a.m. Saturday and found an unresponsive victim with head injuries. The victim later died from his injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the man was involved in a single-vehicle accident nearby and left the scene on foot, according to police. His vehicle was discovered wrecked just north of where his body was found, police said. The area is near Piper High School.

The crash remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response Team.

Man dies in single-vehicle crash near 107th Street

Kansas City, Kan., police today investigated a single-vehicle crash in the area of North 107th in Kansas City, Kan.

Around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, police found an unresponsive man in his late 30s with head injuries in the 4400 block of North 107th, a police spokesman said. The location is near Piper High School. The man later died from his injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates the man left the accident scene on foot, the spokesman said. His vehicle was discovered wrecked just north of where his body was located.

The identity of the victim will not be released until there is positive identification and family notification, the police spokesman said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response Team (CCRT).
