The southbound I-435 left two lanes on the bridge over K-5 in Wyandotte County will be closed for bridge deck pavement repair work beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, April 4,, weather permitting.

One lane will be left open during the repairs, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

I-435 should reopen to traffic at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, weather permitting, according to KDOT.

The southbound I-435 to K-5 exit ramp will remain open, a KDOT spokesman said.

Work was completed recently to repair the pavement on the right two lanes on the bridge deck.

From April 4 to April 6, crews are expected to complete pavement repair work on the left two lanes, the center and left lane, of the bridge deck, weather permitting, according to KDOT.

Advance message boards are in place alerting traffic to the lane closure, the KDOT spokesman said. Traffic will be directed through the work zone via cones and signage.

Updated daily traffic information for this bridge deck repair project and for the entire Kansas City metro area can be viewed online at:www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.

The Kansas Department of Transportation is asking all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and slow down when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
