Homicide victim identified

The victim of a fatal shooting Oct. 7 in the 400 block of Troup Avenue has been identified, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim was James Wilson, 55, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, police said. He was found deceased at the scene.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call the CRIME Stoppers TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS, the spokesman stated. All tips remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward, according to police.

Police investigating death near 28th and Wood

Kansas City, Kansas, police detectives are investigating a death in the 2800 block of Wood Avenue, according to a spokesman.

Officers were sent to the scene about 10:16 a.m. Saturday and discovered an adult male deceased inside, the spokesman stated.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Major Case Unit.
