Larry the Cable Guy is the grand marshal for the annual Go Bowling 400 race at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.

Also known as Daniel Lawrence Whitney, he spoke about what it takes to be involved in NASCAR and his involvement today at the Speedway.

He also talked about how he’s going to do the voice of Mater in the movie called “Cars 3,” a Disney production. He did the same voice in two earlier “Cars” movies.

When asked if he was going to do another Blue Collar Comedy Tour, Larry said maybe in five years.

“We really enjoyed doing it and hopefully we will be doing it in five years if everything turns out that way,” he said.

When asked what he thought of the Kansas Speedway, Larry said it was a great place.

“The people are really great,” he said, “the fans are fantastic and so is the staff.”

Derrick Johnson, linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, made a guest appearance today at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.

Johnson is the honorary pace car driver for the Go Bowling 400 race today at the speedway, and he went on a ride-along with the pace car before the race today.

Johnson said he enjoyed the ride-along and that he was excited to be at Kansas Speedway.

The Go Bowling 400 race, in the Monster Energy Cup series, begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Kansas Speedway.
