Time of lane closures changed for U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge project

The time of a lane closure on the new U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge has changed, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Crews will close one northbound lane on the new U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, beginning Feb. 23, according to MoDOT.

The closure will continue through Thursday, March 2, for bridge construction work, and will not include the weekends.

Originally, work was scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, according to MoDOT. All work depends on the weather.

The bridge connects Wyandotte and Platte counties.

Bridge to be closed Wednesday

The new U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, for underwater demolition work, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

It will be a complete bridge closure including northbound and southbound lanes, according to MoDOT.

All work depends on the weather. The closure affects Platte and Wyandotte counties.

Motorists are asked to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones, MoDOT stated.

Vermes optimistic about season

Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes talked with fans tonight at a fan forum at No Other Pub in the Power and Light District of Kansas City, Mo.

Before the event he talked with the media.

“This year should be a good year,” Vermes said. “We have a lot of great talent.”

Vermes said he was really excited about the season this year.

“These guys are really hungry and it definitely shows with a lot of new additions to the team,” he said.
