Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2203 Parallel, Kansas City, Kan., will have a Christmas Eve Mass at 4 p.m. Dec. 24 and a Christmas Eve Mass in Spanish at 6 p.m. Dec. 24. Before the Masses, the choir will sing carols.

Archbishop Joseph Naumann will bless and open the Holy Door for the Year of Mercy at the 11 a.m. Mass Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 409 N. 15th, Kansas City, Kan. The Cathedral will be visited by parish groups during the Holy Year.

Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, Kan., will hold a Christmas Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 20, at Davern Hall. Christmas Masses will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, with a children’s pageant, and 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25. Before the Masses, the choir will sing carols.

Living Water United Methodist Church, 3001 N. 115th St., Kansas City, Kan., will hold two Christmas Eve services. The 4 p.m. Family Service on Dec. 24 will be an interactive service geared toward young families. The 7 p.m. service Dec. 24 will be a traditional Candlelight and Carols Service. Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene, located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat. The breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, orange juice and coffee. The event is sponsored by Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus. The service in English will be at 10 a.m. and in Spanish at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve services in English will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, with carols. A Christmas Day service in English and Spanish will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th, Kansas City, Kan., will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24. There will be a short service, including singing Christmas music. The service will end with everyone holding a candle. The service will last about one hour.

Trinity Community Church, 5010 Parallel Parkway, will hold a Las Posadas Latino Christmas pageant and a Mexican-themed family supper at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19. The Trinity Community Choir and Orchestra will present “Listen to Christmas” at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20. A Christmas Eve by candlelight family service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24.

The Cathedral of St. Peter will be the host for the Annual Nativity Display and Christmas Homes tour on Sunday, Dec. 6. The Nativity display will be in the parish center, 409 N. 15th. Kansas City, Kan., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The homes tour is noon to 4 p.m. Maps and tickets for the homes tour will be available on Dec. 6 at the parish center or can be purchased in advance by contacting Susie George, 913-371-5819.

An Advent Retreat for Women is planned Dec. 2 at Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan. “Learning to Wait: Using Advent to Deepen our Understanding of God’s Time,” is the theme of the retreat. It will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Keeler Center. A light supper will be served from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Jenny Greene, pastoral minister at St. Teresa’s Academy, will lead the retreat.
