Ethnic festival to be Saturday
The annual Wyandotte County Ethnic Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in the Kansas City Kansas Community College Field House, 7250 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Ethnic food will be for sale. Music and dance groups will entertain. Town Hall Forum planned April 12
The Kansas City, Kan., Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Town Hall Forum about legislative topics from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the West Wyandotte Library, 1737 N. 82nd St., Kansas City, Kan. The public will hear an update on legislation and will have the opportunity to meet with members of the Wyandotte County legislative delegation. The program is free and open to the public.

Edwardsville United Methodist Church, 302 N. 4th St., Edwardsville, Kan., will hold its Second Saturday Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12. It will feature spaghetti. salads, desserts and drinks. Suggested donations are $8 for adults and $3 for children.
Easter egg hunt, parade planned
A “hallelujah” parade is planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th, Kansas City, Kan., followed by an Easter egg hunt at 11:40 a.m. on the parish grounds.
Book sale continues at Bonner library
The spring book sale continues Saturday, April 12, at the Bonner Springs Library sponsored by the Friends of the Library. A variety of fiction and nonfiction along with CDs and DVDs, large print and many books for children are available. Hard back volumes are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents, as well as a bargain corner of older items for only 25 cents. Many donated items are like new and would make great gifts. On Saturday the sale will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.The sale is located in the basement storm shelter area which is available from the parking lot in back of the library. The Bonner Springs City Library is at 201 N. Nettleton Ave., Bonner Springs.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., is planning an Easter Egg hunt for toddlers through fifth graders at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, in the church park. Those attending should bring their own baskets. The event will be moved indoors in case of inclement weather.

Persons of all Christian traditions are invited to participate in Taizé prayer on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. in Annunciation Chapel on the campus of the Mother House of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, 4200 S. 4th St., Leavenworth, Kan. Taizé prayer is a meditative, candlelit service that includes simple chants sung repeatedly, silence, and prayers of praise and intercession. The University of Saint Mary will present a student-led contemporary Live Stations of the Cross during Holy Week at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, on the Front Circle of USM’s Main Campus in Leavenworth, 4100 S. 4th Street.
