Sen. Haley, Rep. Winn to speak at Democratic breakfast Saturday

State Sen. David Haley, D-4th Dist., and Rep. Valdenia Winn, D- 34th Dist., will speak at the Saturday, May 21, meeting of the Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic breakfast.

The program begins about 9:15 a.m. Saturday, and it opens around 8:15 a.m. Saturday at Las Islas VIP Sports Bar and Grill, 4929 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.

Rep. Winn is the Kansas House assistant minority leader.

Also speaking will be Rachel Sweet, campaign manager for Kansans for Constitutional Freedom, a coalition opposing a proposed Aug. 2 constitutional amendment making abortion illegal in Kansas.

The cost of the breakfast is $10 or $7 for those on a limited income or students. First-time student attendees will receive a free breakfast from a sponsor. Breakfast plates are made to order.

Two races, an ARCA race and a NASCAR Camping World truck race, are planned today at the Kansas Speedway.
