Schlagle advances to Class 5A girls substate finals; Piper is host for tonight’s substate Class 4A competition

The Schlagle High School girls basketball team has won its substate opener against Washington, and is advancing to the substate finals tonight at Leavenworth.

Schlagle will play in the Class 5A substate finals on at 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Leavenworth. Schlagle, 13-7, plays Leavenworth, 18-2.

The Schlagle girls basketball team defeated Washington, 51-46 on Wednesday at Schlagle.

Piper and Sumner Academy play on Friday, March 6, at Piper in the two opening games for the girls Class 4A, Division I, substate.

Sumner Academy (16-4) plays Tonganoxie (6-14) at 6 p.m. Friday at Piper; while Piper (15-5) plays Basehor-Linwood (8-12) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Piper.

This Class 4A substate final will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Piper.

Bonner Springs, 14-6, plays DeSoto, 11-9, in the opening substate game at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Miege. This Class 4A, Division I substate final will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Miege.

Bishop Ward, 5-15, plays Perry-Lecompton, 4-16, in the substate opener at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Perry-Lecompton. The Class 4A, Division II, final is at 6 p.m. March 7 at Perry-Lecompton.
