Barnyard Babies returns to Ag Hall

Barnyard Babies will return on Saturday, April 23, to the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, Bonner Springs. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 23, rain or shine, at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, 630 N. 126th (near 126th and State), in Bonner Springs. Admission is $5 for ages 3 and older. Children 2 and under are free. Kids can visit baby goats, chicks, lambs, calves, ponies and more. Also planned are miniature train rides, beekeeping, cow milking and blacksmith demonstrations. For more information visit www.AgHallofFame.com.


CABA plans Central Avenue cleanup


The Central Avenue Betterment Association plans a Central Avenue cleanup on Saturday, April 23. The Earth Day weekend event will start at 9 a.m. at 1120 Central Ave., with a light breakfast, then later move on to the cleanup.

Sporting KC plays Columbus Crew today

Sporting KC will play Columbus Crew today at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. The match starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Volunteers needed for Kaw Point Park clean-up

The Fairfax Industrial Association and the Friends of Kaw Point Park are seeking volunteers to help with efforts at Kaw Point Park.

The volunteers would help with gardening and clean-up efforts. It is a combined effort of the Fairfax Industrial Association and the Friends of Kaw Point Park.

Gardening equipment and trash bags will be provided, according to the organizations, and volunteers should wear their own work gloves, sturdy close-toed shoes or boots and long pants.

Several times and dates have been scheduled for volunteers.

Wyandotte Angels distribute items to seniors

The Wyandotte Angels, a grassroots group founded by Jalynda and Martin Cervantes in Kansas City, Kansas, recently distributed items in its springtime seniors event. The group brought together people and agencies to distribute more than 50 bags that contained items including lotions, gels, brushes and hand towels, along with another bag containing nonperishable food items and snacks.
