Injury crash reported on I-70

An Edwardsville, Kan., man was injured in a crash at 11 a.m. Sept. 8 on I-70 near K-7, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.

The 54-year-old man was driving a Ford F-250 truck when he struck a barrier on I-70 westbound, according to the trooper’s report.

He was taken to a hospital, the report stated.

Lanes to be closed on southbound I-435 on Saturday

Multiple lane closures are scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 10, on southbound I-435 from south of State Avenue to Kansas Avenue in Wyandotte County.

Southbound I-435 will be reduced to one open lane between 4 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday so crews can complete pavement grinding work on the bridge approaches, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

It is part of a bridge repair project. The work will take place weather-permitting.

Car hits I-70 wall

A Pontiac G5 that was traveling west on I-70 on the ramp to Central Avenue lost control and hit the wall on Monday, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman from Edwardsville, Kan., was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the trooper’s report. The accident happened at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 22.
