Town hall meeting planned Jan. 4

State Sen. Kevin Braun, R-5th Dist., is planning a Town Hall meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Bonner Springs City Library, 201 N. Nettleton, Bonner Springs.

Sen. Braun’s Town Hall meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon. He plans to have a Town Hall meeting once a month.

On Jan. 4, Sen. Braun plans to review significant 2019 legislation, pending 2020 legislation and have questions and answers with constituents.

Victim identified in Edwardsville fatal crash

Edwardsville police have identified the victim of a fatal crash about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, on K-32 in Edwardsville, Kansas.

The victim was Taylor Keanu Anderson, 26, Bonner Springs, Kansas, according to an Edwardsville police news release issued today.

According to the Edwardsville Police Department, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and was unresponsive when officers arrived.

His 2006 Nissan Altima was westbound on K-32 when the vehicle spun out of control, left the roadway, rolled over and came to rest near a private drive in the 11100 block of Kaw Drive, Edwardsville, according to police.

Edwardsville fire and EMS personnel arrived, and the driver was pronounced dead, a news release stated. The victim was the only one in the vehicle.

Police stated that the Wyandotte County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy and the final results, including the toxicology report, of that autopsy are pending.

Saturday events

Family story time planned
Family story time is planned from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., in the youth services craft room. Participants will read stories, dance and sing. The story time is geared to those who are ages 2 to 6.

Orchestra exhibit on display at museum
The Wyandotte County Museum, inside Wyandotte County Park, 126th and State, Bonner Springs, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28. On display this month is the Lupe Gonzales Orchestra exhibit. Admission is free.

Live music planned
Live music is planned at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Jazz: A Louisiana Kitchen, 1859 Village West Parkway, at The Legends Outlets in Kansas City, Kansas. The Brendan MacNaughton Band is scheduled to play.
