Thieves hit Ag Hall; steal historic items

The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, Bonner Springs, was hit by thieves who stole some one-of-a-kind and antique items, according to Bonner Springs police.

The burglary and theft took place on Sept. 10 and Nov. 5, and several museum-quality items were stolen during the two incidents, police said.

Among the items stolen from the Ag Hall, 630 N. 126th St., were at least five mantel clocks, antique toys, video equipment, an antique coin collection valued at $25,000, cast iron coin banks, agricultural models, cast iron kitchen tools and other museum items, police said.

The items are unique and of great historic and monetary value to the museum, according to police. Many may be easily identified.

The public’s help is needed to get as much information as possible about the missing items, according to police. There is no suspect information and the case is still under investigation.

The Bonner Springs Police Department is working with the Ag Hall to gain information. The police released pictures of some of the items.
