A carjacking was reported on Monday morning near 34th and Brown, according to a social media post by the police chief.
A 1997 gold Toyota Camry was reported stolen by a man armed with a knife, according to the chief’s post. The suspect fled northbound on I-635. There were no injuries.
Shooting reported
In another case, a shooting was reported Sunday, Feb. 24, in the 1800 block of North 24th, according to a social media post by the police chief.
Accident reported
Two persons were taken to the hospital with severe injuries after an accident on Sunday at 29th and Parallel, according to a social media post by the police chief.
Pursuit ends in car crash
On Saturday, officers responded to shots being fired from cars and attempted to stop one of the vehicles with five males inside, according to a social media post by the police chief.
The driver fled, and officers pursued the vehicle. After the vehicle spun out, an officer was standing near the driver’s door telling the driver to put his hands up, when the driver sideswiped the door, and the officer pursued the vehicle again.
The vehicle went into the Brookside neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, where the driver struck another car, with injuries reported to the occupants of the other car. Five persons in the vehicle were taken into custody.
