Briscoe wins ARCA championship at Kansas Speedway
Chase Briscoe won the ARCA Kansas 150 race Friday night at the Kansas Speedway, and with it, the ARCA championship.
It’s the first championship for Briscoe and his team, from Mitchell, Ind. He was driving the No. 77 Ford.
Qualifying was canceled because of the misty weather and wet track conditions earlier. Briscoe started on the pole and led throughout the race.
The red flag came out in the 51st minute, with several drivers in a wreck.
ARCA awarded the Rookie of the Year on Friday to Dalton Sargent.
Also on Friday, Matt Kenseth won the pole for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 Sprint Cup race. Kyle Busch will be on the front row for the race at 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
At the NASCAR Xfinity Series practices on Friday, Blake Koch turned in the best time at the first practice, while Kyle Larson won the second practice. The Kansas Lottery 300 race is at 2 p.m. Saturday.
