Bridge repair project to begin Friday on I-435 at I-70

A multi-bridge repair project at northbound I-435 at I-70 in Wyandotte County will begin Friday, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Northbound I-435 from Kansas Avenue to just south of State Avenue will be reduced to one open laen so crews can switch traffic control on the bridge for continued repair work between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, July 29, weather permitting, a KDOT spokesman said.

Once the traffic control switch is completed, the eastbound I-70 to northbound I-435 ramp will reopen to unrestricted traffic, and northbound I-435 from just north of Kansas Avenue to just south of I-70 will reopen to two lanes by 2 p.m. on Friday, July 29, according to KDOT.

Motorists are advised to be alert, slow down and obey warning signs, KDOT stated.
