The Board of Public Utilities currently has about 984 customers still without power after Saturday night’s storm, according to a BPU spokesman.
The BPU has added additional contractor crews and is doing everything it can currently, the spokesman stated.
The Saturday storm included some 70 mph winds. There were some areas, such as the Stony Point area, where trees were ripped from the ground and meters were pulled away from homes by the wind.
