BPU golf tournament seeks applications from organizations

The Board of Public Utilities Employees Charity Golf Corp. is taking applications for consideration as a beneficiary to receive proceeds from this year’s annual tournament.

The application process will close at the end of the day on Monday, May 17, according to a spokesman.

The tournament committee is looking for applications from nonprofit organizations that benefit children and youth within Kansas City, Kansas, and Wyandotte County.

The annual charity event benefits youth of the community served by BPU, according to the spokesman. This year it will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, at Dub’s Dread.

Organizations that want to obtain an application and apply for the proceeds may email [email protected] to receive an application.

As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, the BPU Employees Charity Golf Corp., a Kansas not-for-profit organization, sponsors and holds the annual golf tournament.

Since 1992 the annual event has raised more than $639,000 for area children’s charities.
