BPU customers without power down to 1,310

The number of Board of Public Utilities customers without power as of 9:31 a.m. Monday, June 19, was 1,310, according to the BPU’s outage map.

Thunderstorms hit the Kansas City, Kansas, area on Friday and Saturday nights, knocking out power to thousands of homes.

BPU customers may report power outages to 913-573-9522, and water service problems to 913-573-9622.

Power outages also may be reported online on the BPU’s website at www.bpu.com.

  1. It’s strange that the outage map shows all of the problems on the east part of the county. And western Wyandotte where all the BPU Board Members live is clear.
