With a police standoff happening nearby today, the Board of Public Utilities’ administrative offices will be open for business at noon today, according to a spokesman.
The BPU’s lobby will be closed all day as the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department will have Minnesota Avenue blocked off most of the day for a crime scene investigation, the spokesman said. Shots were reportedly fired at officers at the Hilton Garden Inn, resulting in a standoff with police that recently ended.
BPU employees will use the entrance on State Avenue only, according to the spokesman.
