Boot block collection for Capt. Melton’s family

A firefighter today collected funds for police Capt. Robert (Dave) Melton's family, at the intersection of 78th and State Avenue in Kansas City, Kan. Capt. Melton died in the line of duty. Boot block collections are scheduled between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday at various intersections in Kansas City, Kan. The boot block collection was by the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department, in conjunction with the International Association of Firefighters Local 64.
