Bonner Springs woman injured in icy crash

A Bonner Springs woman was injured in a crash Saturday on Highway 59, about 5 miles north of Ottawa, Kan.

The 63-year-old woman was a passenger in a Toyota Tacoma that was northbound on Highway 59, around 11 a.m., when it crossed a bridge and lost control on the ice, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

The Tacoma rolled, coming to rest on its wheels on top of the guardrail, the trooper’s report stated.

She was taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the Tacoma, a 65-year-old Tipton, Kan., man, was not injured, the report stated.
