A local church is inviting the community to honor Bonner Springs High School senior Blake McMahan and Bonner Springs school resource officer, Master Patrol Officer Anthony Davis.
Victory Assembly Church, 121 Allcutt, Bonner Springs, will hold a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, to celebrate McMahan and Davis’ recent trip to the White House. They were honored there for their work to bridge the gap between community and law enforcement.
During Sunday’s ceremony, the church will show a video from the White House event, McMahan and Davis will make remarks about their experience, and Bonner Springs Mayor Jeff Harrington will read a proclamation on behalf of the city.
The event is open to the public, and will be followed by a barbecue for the community.
