Blue Devil All-Star game to match area’s best seniors on Sunday

The best senior high school players from Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties will square off against the best from Johnson County in the first Blue Devil All-Star basketball game at Kansas City Kansas Community College Sunday at 4 p.m.

Rodney Briggs of Lansing High School will coach the Wyandotte-Leavenworth stars while Rick Zych of Bishop Miege will coach the Johnson County stars. Admission is $5 for anyone 5 years or older. The rosters of the two teams:

Wyandotte-Leavenworth – 6-1 Anthony Cerda aznd 6-7 Larry Gatlin, both of Bishop Ward; 6-6 Trevor Young and 6-5 Kenneth Banks of Lansing; 6-3 Vince Eskina, Piper; 6-3 Jerome Simmons of Leavenworth; 6-6 Carson Fliger, Basehor-Linwood; 6-1 Deionta Nunnaly, Wyandotte; 6-9 Donald Metoyer, Washington; and 6-2 Justin Garner, Harmon.

Johnson – 6-3 Jayden Davis and 6-3 Taylor Filbert, Olathe South; 6-0 Jaymond Kelly and 6-2 Devin Anctil, Olathe Northwest; 6-5 Brian Harness, Shawnee Mission South; E.R. Steffy, Blue Valley Southwest; 5-11 James Atwood, Blue Valley Northwest; 5-7 Reggie Byers, Bishop Miege; and 6-1 Brett Wright and 6-5 Kyle Hultgren, Gardner-Edgerton.
