Blocktoberfest is coming to the downtown Kansas City, Kansas, and Strawberry Hill area on Friday evening.
The event, coordinated by the Unified Government, is part of the Better Block revitalization and urban design program.
The event, from noon to 9 p.m. Friday on 6th Street between Ann and Tauromee avenues, will include food trucks, a beer garden, and temporary street scape improvements such as bike lanes, a bike walk, pop-up businesses, art and commerce.
The event is part of Mayor David Alvey’s “Neighborhoods Up” initiative aimed at encouraging economic development and community growth by focusing on improvements in Kansas City, Kansas, neighborhoods, according to an announcement by the UG.
The event is free and open to the public.
