Bishop Ward wins WyCo volleyball tourney

The Bishop Ward High School volleyball team won the Wyandotte County varsity tournament held at Schlagle High School on Saturday, Oct. 6. Harmon, Sumner, Turner, Washington and Wyandotte high schools also participated.

The Lady Cyclones finished first in pool play, and then defeated Turner in straight games in the final. Senior outside hitter Judis Ree provided offensive power from the left side, and produced a critical string of service points in the final game. Senior middle hitter Billie Pridey helped control the front line.

Wyandotte defeated Washington for third place in the consolation game.
