A couple of big trucks were involved in a traffic accident about 7:15 a.m. Oct. 24 on eastbound I-70, east of Fairfax Trafficway in Kansas City, Kansas.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, the driver of a 2018 Mack truck was traveling eastbound on I-70 when the accident happened.
The driver of the Mack truck told the trooper that another semi truck began splitting lanes ahead of him and slammed on his brakes, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Mack truck attempted to avoid a collision and merged into the fourth lane, the trooper’s report stated. The driver of a Nissan Rogue could not stop in time and struck the rear of the Mack truck, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Nissan Rogue, a 63-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kansas, had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.
The driver of the Mack truck, a 35-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was not injured, the report stated.
