Barricade incident ends peacefully

A barricade incident at the Great Wolf Lodge ended peacefully on Tuesday night.

According to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department, officers were sent to an armed disturbance call in the 10000 block of Cabela Drive at 7:13 p.m. Feb. 11.

When officers arrived, they were told that a person was possibly armed and refused to leave the Great Wolf Lodge property, the spokesman stated in a news release.

Officers established a perimeter, and the special operations unit was brought in to deescalate the incident, according to police.

Negotiators established contact with the barricaded person, who refused to leave the room, the spokesman stated.

The special operations unit entered the room and took the person into custody without further incident, the spokesman stated.

The incident is under investigation by the police department’s criminal investigations division.
