A barricade near 69th and State Avenue on Tuesday night ended peacefully around 12:15 a.m., according to a police spokesman.
Officers were responding to a shooting near 69th and State at 5:56 p.m. July 9, where two vehicles were seen shooting at each other. Officers saw a vehicle parked behind a motel that possibly could have been involved in the disturbance, the spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department stated.
The vehicle belonged to a wanted individual out of Kansas and Missouri, according to the spokesman.
Officers tried to contact the suspect, but the suspect refused to leave the motel room, the spokesman stated.
At 12:15 a.m., after several hours of speaking with negotiators, the man exited the room without incident and was taken into custody, according to the spokesman.
