Academy Bank, a family-owned bank in Kansas City, Mo., has announced the opening of a new branch location at the Walmart Super Center at 10824 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
The bank also opened a new branch location at Walmart in Blue Springs, Mo.
The two new branches are the first Academy Bank retail sites to open in the Kansas City area since 2007, a spokesman said.
They represent Academy Bank’s increased presence in the region through a platform of commercial lending, branch opening and potential acquisitions, the spokesman said.

Walmart branches are open seven days a week and offer ATM service, a toll-free 24-hour information line, checking and savings accounts, check cashing services, residential mortgages, and business accounts and loans.

Hours of the new branch in the Kansas City, Kan., Walmart at 10824 Parallel Parkway are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
