Legends Outlets Kansas City is joining with the United Way of Wyandotte County to collect donations for local students during a Back-to-School Clothing Drive from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
The event will feature prize giveaways, refreshments and entertainment including a Sporting KC player appearance, kids’ activities and more.
Sporting KC midfielder Connor Hallisey will appear at the event. Also making an appearance will be Dexter the Dinosaur from the T-Rex Café. A school choir performance is planned, and there will be safety tips from the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department.
Donation items must be new and may include all sizes of khaki pants, jeans, polo shirts, socks, underwear and shoes, toiletry items including deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, and Legends gifts cards. Donations will go to local agencies of the United Way of Wyandotte County for distribution.
Additionally, shoppers 16 and older who donate at least one school-related item during the drive will receive an entry into a grand prize drawing for one $500 Legends Outlets gift card.
The clothing drive is on the west side of The Legends Outlets, between T-Rex Café and Books-A-Million at 1843 Village West Parkway.
