Curtis R. Ayers, 28, of Tonganoxie, Kan., who was charged with homicide in connection with the May 9 shooting death of Kansas City, Kan., Police Detective Brad Lancaster, waived extradition today to Wyandotte County.
Ayers appeared before a Jackson County, Mo., judge today. He was arrested in Jackson County, where he was accused of carjacking and shooting a woman who was driving on U.S. 71.
In Wyandotte County, Ayers was charged on May 11 with capital murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, two counts of kidnapping and criminal possession of a firearm.
