A preliminary hearing for Curtis Ayers has been continued until March, according to the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office.
Ayers is charged with the May 9, 2016, murder of Kansas City, Kan., police Detective Brad Lancaster.
A preliminary hearing on the charges was scheduled Nov. 21, but the defendant requested the court to continue the preliminary hearing, according to Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome Gorman’s office.
The court granted the request and set a new court hearing date for March 13, 2017.
