“The Last Wild Places of Kansas” with author George Frazier will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the Bonner Springs City Library, 201 N. Nettleton Ave., Bonner Springs, Kansas.
The author will speak on his book, a 2017 Kansas Notable Book, which chronicles three years he spent roaming the Sunflower State by car, canoe and on foot.
What are the “wild places” of Kansas? According to the book, they are places where nature collides with folklore.
The “wild places” range from unexpected areas in the suburbs of Kansas City to the Cimarron National Grassland in southwestern Kansas.
Natural treasures such as stretches of unplowed prairie, forests hundreds of years old and Native American landmarks are among Frazier’s selected “wild places.”
