Area could get three-quarters of an inch of rain tonight

Rain moves into the region late this afternoon into the evening, to last off and on through Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

No strong thunderstorms or heavy rain is expected with this activity, the weather service said.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain in Wyandotte County today, mainly after 3 p.m., according to the weather service.

Skies will be mostly cloudy today with a high near 55. A southeast wind of 6 to 9 mph is possible. New precipitation amounts are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch, according to the weather service.

Tonight, there is a 100 percent chance of rain, according to the weather service. Between a half-inch and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible, the weather service said. The low will be around 47 with an east southeast wind of 7 mph.

Saturday, expect a 60 percent chance of showers mainly before 7 a.m., the weather service said. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected. It will be cloudy with a high near 57. There will be a southeast wind of 5 to 8 mph, becoming west northwest in the afternoon.

On Saturday night, it will be mostly clear with a low around 44, according to the weather service. A west northwest wind of 5 mph will become light and variable after midnight.

Sunday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 49, according to the weather service.
