Animal Crackers Feed Store at 8101 Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kan., reopened today with new owners.

Rick and Stacey Sheahan, residents of Kansas City, Kan., are the new owners of the store.

“We are so excited to do business in our own area,” Stacey Sheahan said.

The store will carry pet food and animal feed, as it did previously, plus some new items, Stacey Sheahan said.

The new items will include Amish jams and jellies, as well as some produce, she said.

On Saturdays, the store will offer some fresh-baked Amish goods such small pies, banana nut bread, apple bread, cinnamon rolls and caramel nut rolls, Sheahan said.

Produce available at the store will all be grown within 150 miles, with much of it Amish-grown, she added. Produce available included zucchini, cucumbers, small potatoes, cabbage and raspberries. Animal Crackers will offer a 20-pound box of mixed vegetables.

  1. Love the Amish jellies and home made breads! Glad you are close by, too!

  2. I am so GLAD you took over this building. We live at
8211 Leavenworth Rd. We will definitely be shopping there. I love that you will be selling Amish products. That means no pesticides just natural. It seems like the only places we shop are at Family Dollar. And if we need to get out of our comfort zone we go to Sav Alot or Hen House. I work at Hen House but its the one at 87th & Lackman. 2 days a week Fri. & Sat.
    12:30-5:30.
So the only things we do are Church on Sunday at Lenexa Christian Center and home. I’m so excited to have you in the neighborhood.
    God Bless
