Alcott’s last performances of 2017 this weekend

Join the cast and crew of “Dracula: The Final Countdown,” a comedy by Geoff Bamber and directed by Glendora Davis at the Alcott Arts Center as they tell this story of Dracula as never seen before.

There are females as Igoretta and Professor Dorothy Van Helsing, which in turn helps set the tone for this topsy, turvy romp across Yorkshire, Sigipitesti, Transylvania and the English moors.

Newly employed Jonathan Harker looking to gain the hand of the lovely Mina Hawkins seeks to secure Count Dracula’s signature on investments he’s been entrusted to handle.

But paper work can be a problem as it leads him to Dracula’s Castle where the wives want to make Harker part of their shrunken head collection.

Things become problematic when Dracula moves to Yorkshire. He is such a “wolf” and after killing all aboard the ship that brought him to Whitby Harbor, he turns Mina and her best friend into additional wives.

There is no zombie left undead as it takes the village including the harbor master, constable and a precious cabin boy to aid in tracking the Fiend to his lair. The stakes are high and the humor biting. This is not your momma’s Dracula.

Performances are at 7 p.m. Oct. 27, 28 and 3 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Alcott, 180 S. 18th St. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students and seniors.

Reservations are available by phone or email at 913-233-2787 or [email protected]. Tickets are available at the door only (call to reserve a ticket). Alcott does not accept credit or debit cards.
