Injury-accident reported on I-670
An injury-accident was reported about 8:03 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, on eastbound I-670, a half-mile east of Seventh Street. Some of the area roads and highways were snow-covered on Saturday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a Ford Expedition was disabled in one of the eastbound lanes when a Peterbilt semi struck it at an angle.
The driver of the Expedition, a 38-year-old Leavenworth, Kansas, woman, was taken to the hospital with a suspected serious injury, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Peterbilt semi, a 29-year-old Houston, Texas, man, was not injured, the trooper’s report stated.
Injury-accident reported on I-635
Another accident was reported at 7:55 a.m. Saturday on northbound I-635 south of Georgia Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a trooper’s report.
A Honda Odyssey was northbound on I-635 when it struck a Toyota Tundra truck in the rear. The Odyssey spun out and a Ford Fusion then struck the Odyssey, the trooper’s report stated.
The Odyssey and the Fusion came to rest on the inside shoulder, while the Tundra was on the outside shoulder, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Fusion, a 36-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, was taken to a hospital with a suspected minor injury, the trooper’s report stated.
A woman passenger in the Odyssey, a 45-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, woman, was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Odyssey, a 51-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man, was not injured, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Tundra, a 49-year-old man from Roseboro, North Carolina, was not injured, the trooper’s report stated.
