Three vehicles on eastbound I-70 were involved in accidents in a construction zone at 5:25 p.m. Monday west of the 57th Street exit.
According to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report, three vehicles were eastbound on I-70 near the 57th Street exit when they came to backed-up traffic in a construction zone.
The three vehicles made evasive maneuvers toward the inside shoulder, the trooper’s report stated.
An Oldsmobile Aurora rear-ended a Toyota Sienna, the report stated. A Ford pickup truck then struck the median wall and hit the back of the Aurora, pushing it forward into the Sienna for a second time, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Aurora, a 44-year-old Olathe man, had a possible injury, according to the report.
The driver of the Sienna, a 43-year-old man from Salina, Kan., was not injured, the report said. An 8-year-old girl in the Sienna had a possible injury, according to the report.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 25-year-old man from Raymore Mo., was not injured, the report stated. A 27-year-old passenger in the pickup truck from Raymore, Mo., had a possible injury, according to the report.
